The Mapúa Cardinals took home several awards in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Season 100 Senior Men's Basketball Awarding Ceremony held earlier today, December 7, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Showing up with his grit and prowess, Rookie Chris Hubilla soared high to take home the Freshman Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year awards in his debut season in the NCAA.

Meanwhile, King Cardinal Clint Escamis cements his place in the Mythical Five for the second year in a row alongside Benilde's Allen Liwag and Winston Ynot, LPU's John Barba, and SSC-R's Tristan Felebrico.

In a pre-game interview, the Cards' captain shared that the red and gold team's game plan is to treat every match like it's a do-or-die game. "'Yung mentality namin coming into Game 1, we got it. Kailangan more aggressive kami kasi alam namin paghahandaan kami," Escamis shared.

When asked for a message for the Mapúan community, Escamis said "Isa na lang. Ibibigay na namin lahat 'to. Gagawin na namin lahat ng makakaya namin this game... Thank you for all the supporters namin ngayon. Sana, we bring home the bacon this time."
