Recently, Mapúa University’s Office of International Career and Exchange Programs (ICEP) hosted a series of online career development seminars through the video streaming platform YouTube on June 25, 26, and 30 with the aim of providing students first-hand information on how they can smoothly move from the academe to their respective fields in the industry.
Workbank.com Talent Development Officer Ma. Nastancia Irene Mendoza spoke on the June 25 session, titled “Fresh Graduate Survival Kit,” about what recent graduates should do to find suitable jobs. In addition, Mendoza stressed the importance of having a good résumé and what to expect during job interviews.
The following day, April Joy Sta. Catalina, client service manager at Alexander Mann Solutions, talked about the importance of maintaining a work-life balance and committing to change during these trying times in her seminar “Change Management + Finding Balance.”
On June 30, Accenture’s Recruiting Associate Manager Shine Aceron tackled the last seminar entitled “How To Ace Your Virtual Job Interview.” During the session, she discussed various ways to prepare for and excel in an online job interview.
“With more and more companies transitioning to virtual ways in hiring talents, learning from experts is an edge in starting a career amid the pandemic,” placement coordinator for ICEP, Raymund T. Dela Cruz shared.
ICEP is planning more online activities to further support the students’ future as well as their partner companies’ initiatives amidst the current situation in the country due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
