The Mapúa University - Commission on Elections has released the official list of candidates for the upcoming student council elections for A.Y. 2024 - 2025 today, September 26.
Central Student Council (CSC)
Two slates of partylists are running for seats in the Central Student Council (CSC), which is the highest-elected student body of the institution, namely: Salinlahi and Yugto.
The Salinlahi slate is spearheaded by aspiring CSC President Mikaela Angela T. Subosa. She is joined by Enrico Miguel G. Santos, Maria Sofia S. Padre, and Jen Krizia Mae D. Agripa, running for the Internal Vice President, Secretary, and Assistant Secretary posts, respectively.
Moreover, Nathan Jael. T. Ureta, Chaed Zaynah C. Tolentino, and Niño Daryl I. Atienza, are the slate's Treasurer, Auditor, and Business Manager 1 aspirants. Lastly, Angelique Yvanne C. Orlain and Denzel Ivan P. Porlage are running for two separate Public Relations Officer positions.

On the other hand, Yugto partylist is headed by its CSC President aspirant, Cielo Joyce P. Ando, joined by Mark Miguel D. Chan, who is running as Internal Vice President, and Julia Gwyneth B. Torio, who is gunning for the External Vice President post. Mirai Franchesca B. Miyakawa and Ronn Diego C. Soriano, Secretary and Assistant Secretary aspirants, complete the party's executive officer slate.
Furthermore, aspiring Treasurer Charize R. Simpao, Business Manager candidate Jacob Nathan N. Neric, and aspiring Public Relations Officers, Jamuel Jiether T. Sy and Ariell D. Lovenia, comprise Yugto's Cabinet Officers aspirants.

Council of Organizations (COO)
Angkla is the only partylist running for the new tenure of the Council of Organizations (COO). The COO, the highest elected student body that governs all accredited student organizations, is comprised of representatives from all recognized orgs.
The partylist is headed by John Lourd Carlo G. Anabo, who is running for the COO President position. He is joined by aspiring IVP Jinjer Rianne I. Arante, and EVP candidate, Szera Yasmeen A. Mahmud.
Other aspiring executive officers in their slate include Jeiel Russel A. Fajardo for Executive Secretary, Ashley Therese S. Reyes for Assistant Secretary, Liana Marie V. Cahinhinan for Executive Treasurer, and Patrichia P. Gabriel for Executive Auditor.
For its cabinet slate, Sophia Chloe R. De Jesus is running for Assistant Treasurer. Liana Mariss E. Cagomoc and Jeffrey Hou Meng are aspiring External Relations Head and External Relations Associate positions, respectively. Lastly, Kathleen Keiyth V. Floreza is gunning for the Public Relations Officer - Intramuros post.

Meanwhile, independent candidate Judiel Mariz G. Salazar will run against Angkla's Reyes for the Assistant Secretary post.

As of October 1, Angkla's Erica Joy E. Gacutan, who was part of its slate as the assistant auditor aspirant, has formally withdrawn her candidacy as shared in a post by the Mapúa COMELEC.

The campaign is set to commence on September 28 and will run until October 2. Meanwhile, the Miting de Avance (MDA) will take place on October 3 and 4, where the Intramuros and Makati-based local councils are set to present their slates and plans on the respective MDAs on their campuses. Meanwhile, CSC aspirants are expected to showcase their platforms and answer queries from the Mapúan community on both dates.
In an announcement released last September 20, the Mapúa COMELEC stated that the Senior High School Department (SHS), which conducted its local election, and the School of Nursing (SON), which appointed its council officers, will not be participating in this year's elections. To ensure representation from the said schools, the inducted presidents and chosen CSC representatives will be recognized as honorary officers in the Council of Presidents (COP) and CSC, respectively.
The election period will take place on October 6 - 8. The Mapúa COMELEC is yet to release details on the voting process.
Meanwhile, a closed-door election for the COP and COO will take place on October 10.
