An annual event spearheaded by the Council of Organizations, 27 organizations took part in Teknorampa 2019 held last September 27 at the University’s Intramuros campus gymnasium.
With the theme, “Extravaganza Eleganza: A toast to Inclusivity, Diversity, and the Environment Flourishing,” each organization expressed their creativity through their haute and pop culture couture ensembles made from recycled materials and was showcased by their chosen representatives during the night.
Materials Engineering Society’s Jezzarella Mei Abrenica captured everyone’s attention as she walked the runway with their pop icon inspired outfits and won the Best Design for Pop Couture and the Best in Pop Icon award. In the digital realm, Gillen Cabico from Physics Society of Mapúa was hailed as the Netizen’s Choice. International Construction Project Management Association - Mapúa Student Chapter’s (ICPMA-MSC) very own Marcus Casais was hailed as the Most Photogenic.
Philippine Society of Sanitary Engineers - Mapúa University Student Chapter (PSSE-MUSC) representative Jade Carpio received two awards during the event: Congeniality and Most Popular. The best in Haute Couture distinction was given to Tracy Kate Amorato of Rotaract. The Association of Biological Engineers of Mapúa’s (BIOLOGIC) candidate, Romelyn May Baptista was the night’s Tiakoro Sustainable awardee.
This year’s Teknorampa was concluded with five standouts. Mapúa Institute of Technology Student Catholic Action took first place while ICPMA-MSC, Honors Society of Mapúa, Rotaract, and PSSE-MUSC went home as second to fifth placers, respectively.
