Photo by: Center for Scholarships and Financial Assistance Last August 7, Mapúa University (MU) collaborated with the UT Foundation and AY Foundation to offer the UT Foundation Inc. Scholarship to Mapúans. In the agreement, the UT Foundation will be providing scholarships which will be coursed through the AY Foundation for students.
The UT Foundation Inc. Scholarship will cover laboratory and miscellaneous fees, as well as provide allowances (for existing scholars without stipend). Moreover, scholars will also be given the opportunity to join projects, charities, or activities initiated by UT Foundation.
The scholarship grant will support 25 freshmen students. Eligible candidates will be the approved scholars from the University’s scholarship programs such as the Income-Based Financial Assistance Program (IBFAP) and the Alfonso T. Yuchengco (ATY) scholarship for the 1st Trimester A.Y. 2024-2025. After the first trimester, approved scholars from the Need-Based Academic Scholarship will also be considered.
The scholarship will support students throughout their whole program duration given that they satisfy the minimum requirements every term. Interested applicants will need to resubmit an application form and write a letter of intent for the UT Foundation Inc. Scholarship. The signing of memorandum of agreement was attended by UT Foundation’s Board of Trustees, Mr. Roger Leo A. Cariño, Mr. Armando S. Alberto, and Mr. Rodolfo P. Bondoc and their operations team, Ms. Jeane B. Tandoc and Ms. Divine Veronica B. Gomez. Also present was Ms. Michele Y. Dee for the AY Foundation, together with MU’s President and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Dodjie S. Maestrecampo, Assistant Vice President and Head of Office of Student Affairs and Alumni Relations Mr. Oliver Ryan B. Custodio, Business Development Manager Ms. Jemmabel M. Hernandez, and CSFA Financial Assistance Officer Ms. Nicole Ynne M. Estabillo.
The UT Foundation has ongoing partnerships with various multiple schools across the country, the scholarship grant seeks to assist financially challenged students who excel academically. Meanwhile, the AY Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the Yuchengco Group of Companies.
